veeam backup copy to rotate media | Notification

Post by umenz »

Hi,

on a daily backup copy Job to a RDX Drive we add a post script to eject on Sunday. all works fine.
But if no media inserted - the Job will restart every 30 minutes around the clock and send notifications.
- what I can see is the pre and the post script are started every 30 minutes too. seems the daily cycle changes to half an hour !

For a rotated Media Target is the state: "waiting for Media" a normal Operation. The Job interval is once a day. is it possible to run it only once a day ?

Thanks

The scripts get executed on every retry. Currently, it's by design behaviour.

You can modify the script, so that it doesn't do anything, if the job has not processed anything during the latest session.

Thanks.

Hi Vladimir, thanks for your reply with this information.

I have resolved this issue outside VEEAM with a PowerShell script. It disable after and re-enable the job if a new Cartridge inserted to prevent multiple errors with the target after eject.
