Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager
Good morning everyone , I have a mixed install of veeam
location 1 : VEEAM BACKUP ESSENTIALS UNIVERSAL LICENSE. 10 instances
location 2 : Veeam Availability Suite Enterprise 4 sockets
location 3: : VEEAM BACKUP ESSENTIALS UNIVERSAL LICENSE. 10 instances
I would like to manage everything from a single console , Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager product could be a solution ?
stupid question if a veeam server is down Enterprise Manager can't manage the backups instead with the information you imported

Re: Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager
Hi Massimiliano,
Yes, Enterprise Manager is the solution to manage multiple Veeam B&R installations from a single console. If Veeam B&R server is down, EM server cannot manage any tasks on the unavailable server. But you can restore configuration on another server, remove the failed one from EM and add a server on which configuration is restored.
Thanks!

Re: Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager
Yes, it can, but it cannot apply different licenses to controlled backup servers - so it will be either socket or VUL license propagated by it.
Also, are location 1 and location 3 using the same license or different ones? Do all of those locations belong to your own company or you are managing backup services of your clients?
Thanks!

Re: Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager
Locations 1 and 3 have different licenses.
So if I convert the license of location 2 to vul, I can manage the backup of the 3 veeam servers.
the locations are all part of the same company but situations in different physical locations

Re: Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager
Can you tell us how you got 2 different Essentials licenses? Our policy prohibits selling more than one Essentials license to a company.
So in order to continue you will need to reach you sales representative and see what he or she might offer - you will need a single VUL license that covers workloads from 3 sites.
Thanks!
