Veeam Backup Enterprise Mgr via WAN

Post by szwicker »

We'd like to use the Enterprise Manager to observe our various client's backups.
What must be done to facilitate this?
I would assume a 1-1 NAT rule with port 9392 open in the firwall but that doesn't seem to work thus far.

Please Advise.

thx

Hello Seth,

Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager Service uses port 9394 to collect data from backup servers added to Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager, as for Veeam Backup Service it uses port 9392 (calls are coming from Enterprise Manager Service), so you need those 2 ports to be published for proper communication.

Thank you!

Actually, 9392 between Backup server and Enterprise Manager should be sufficient. 9394 is only used "locally" on Enterprise Manager, for interactions between Enterprise Management service and ASP.NET.

Seth,

Do you see any errors if you look at VeeamBES.log? You can find the log path listed on the Configuration|About page of the web UI, for me it is:

Code: Select all

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Veeam\Backup\VeeamBES.log
Also could you tell us what .Net version do you have installed on your Enterprise Mgr server?

Thank you!

It's Win2008 x64 running .net 1.1 & .net 3.5 sp1

This seems to be the error I'm consistantly getting:

Looks like connectivity is just fine, this is clearly logon/security issue...
Did you specify user in the DOMAIN\USERNAME format?
