Veeam Backup Free - Truncate Exchange logs

Post by Wocka »

Hello,

I'm needitng to resort to using the free version of Veeam Backup to protect my Exchange 2010 server until manamgement agree to purchase the full product. My Backup Exec job is just becoming to unstable (and takes 26 hours to complete) and this is makeing me nervous.

My Question:
I can't see if you can turn off the truncate exchange logs with the free version. Either by disableing "Enable application aware image processing" or under the Transaction Logs settings -> "Do not truncate logs" option.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

My reason for this is that I'd still like to have Backup Exec be the master of the backup and to also stop it complaining about the transactions logs were truncated (and not by itself) error message.

Hello, Veeam Backup Free Edition will not truncate Exchange transaction logs no matter what. I assume here that you are talking about using VeeamZIP, which is the only way to perform backup in Free Edition. Settings you are talking about above are not available in VeeamZIP. Thanks!
