Hi, sry for my bad language,
I have a question about how veeam works in this below situation:
my veeam server installed on site A,
I have 1 vm server on site B and backup repository is a shared network storage on site B,
now when I got backup from that vm, any traffic goes to site A or not?
just transfer data between network B site?

Re: veeam backup network use
Hello Farhad,
What platforms/backup jobs you are referring to? In general if backup proxy and backup repository components are located in the site B backup traffic will be isolated in site B. Components will still communicate with Veeam B&R server but that would be only management traffic. Thanks!

Re: veeam backup network use
Hi Farhad,
If your VMs are running in vSphere enviornment, I assume that Veeam server plays a role of proxy and in this case traffic circulates between sites. As Dmitry said, you should deploy a proxy server on the same site where the repository resides if you want to keep backup traffic isolated within the site B. I suggest to setup a VM on the site B and assign a role of the proxy server to this VM, it can give higher processing rate in HotAdd mode.
Speaking about Hyper-V, I guess no changes are needed as Veeam Data Mover is running on the Hyper-V host itself, please refer to this page for more details.
Thanks!
