Veeam Backup vs Veeam Proxy

Post by Sutirtha »

Hi Experts,

I am new to Veeam . We are planning to setup a small (30) VM environment with a front end backup data of 4TB and planning to implement Veeam solution and integrate it with EMC Data Domain .

Since its a small environment planning to have 1 VM server which acts as both Backup Server and Proxy Server . Please let us know if we can achieve the same and integrate with existing Data Domain.

What are the challenges or technical limitations we may face if we have 1 single VM which acts both backup server and proxy server

Hi Sutirtha,

You're good to go with the backup server as central all-in-one component. Here you will find useful information about the Simple deployment scenario.
Regarding requirements and possible technical limitations take a look at the article in the User Guide here. Thanks!

Hi Sutirtha,

I'd like to add that we have a great article covering EMC DD integration process and also there are several sizing calculators that might help you during the deployment planning. Additionally, you can take a look at our best practices portal for basics.

Thanks
