Veeam behaviour with old restore points after full sync

Post by FrediWeber »

Hi

We had to start a new Copy chain by start a full backup copy. Now we have some pretty old (over two months) weekly restore points which are even recognized as weeklys.
What is the behaviour in this case? Is Veeam going to delete these?

Kind regards

Hi,

Do you have GFS retention configured by any chance?

Thanks

Restore points will be deleted according to the configured retention policy.

Yes we have GFS retention configured. The question is if the old weeklys will be deleted after we start with a new copy chain.

Just to make sure we are on the same page - do you have restore points that are not deleted by the retention policy after you've started a new backup chain?
