Veeam BR Free Edition can't install in Windows 7 Profesional

Hi, I'm Manuel and I try to test Veam BR Free Edition with this infrastructure:

Windows 7 Profesional SP1 64 bits
Intel I5
8 gb RAM

When I start to install Veeam_B&R_Setup_x64.exe always stop on
option where Sql server must be install it, but Veeam never presents me the option
where install locally the Sql server express, always presents option in order to "Use existing instance" but Sql Server is not installed.

I execute Revo uninstaller for look for a old Sql server installation, but don't exists, even more I execute Ccleaner in order to clean old entries in register.

Nevertheless, I still can not install Veeam BR Free Edition

Anybody can help and show me the correct direction ?

Manuel, do you mean that the option to install SQL Server Express locally is disabled at the SQL Server Instance step of the setup wizard? Probably, some previous SQL Server installation is still detected on this machine. In this case Veeam B&R setup allows you to only use the existing local SQL Server instance or choose the one that runs remotely. I suggest contacting support so they could examine your system to verify remains of the old installation. Thanks.

As a potential workaround you can download SQL Express version, manually deploy it and then during the VB&R installation point wizard to this instance.

Hi v.Eremin I try this option but with Sql server express 2008, need install on a Windows server and at the moment I want probe with Windows 7 Pro. Thanks.

There is an existing article how SQL 2008 Express edition can be installed on Windows 7; might be useful for you.

Or you can download SQL 2005 Express that supports Windows 7.

Thank you v.Eremin for you information, I can't have luck, but finally I installed on a Windows 2003 server, and I had no problems.

Now I will try the posibilities of the software.
