Hey,

Just looking for an update on the release of CDP. Is this going to be a Q1 release?

Hi Roderick,

I can't give you any release date around certain functionality but on this specific one I wouldn't get my hopes up for Q1.

Sorry

Any update on this? How are we looking for Q3? Did the 6.7 Push this back?

CDP is not related to the 6.7 release. This is seperate from it. Currently no specific date is known however it won't be in Q2 this year.

why do we have such a huge delay? I mean it's 13 monath ago since veeam was introducing this new feature... Are there issues with the quality or is it on vmware-side, etc.?

No other news on this yet? Seems very quiet for such a killer feature.....seems 2019 might be on the cards......

Steve,

We are working on it and we are looking into releasing a beta soon. But before we do that, we always want to make sure the quality is already very good. It might seem quiet from our side, but this is certainly something which is being worked on in the background very heavily :-)

To be fair, we never announced the release date when we shared our v10 roadmap last year... while "delay" requires some official date to start with

Other than that, it's a complex feature that takes to ensure that it is stable and reliable (too much risk of data integrity issues). Nevertheless, we've just reached the Tech Preview 2 milestone (sort of the internal preview build for our system engineers to test), expect to be feature-complete this fall - and ship sometimes next year, depending on how long stabilization and certification will take.

Thank you for the clarification, Anton.

Of course you are right. It looks like that I have missed some important information because to me it looked like the feature was as good as "ready to ship" when I saw the presentation online. I didn't realize that it was some kind of preview about "what will happen the next years and month".

Thanks again for all the information!

We've completed the development, and it will be a part of the next release after Update 4.

Thank you Anton for this great information. Will we still see 2 Updates in 2019 or could it be more/less?

It mostly depends on how platform releases stack up with our release cycle, and also how much they break :D
