Hello everybody,
I've got a question concerning the GFS settings you can use in the Enterprise Manager wit the release of v10.
At this point, backup jobs are running as forever incremental jobs and never create any full backups besides the first time the runs obviously.
But when you activate the option 'Keep certain full backups longer for archival purposes' this line alone suggest to me, there need to be full backups available. But we don't create any synthetic of active fulls like I mentioned.
Does the job in this case create those full backups for archival purposes automatically, or do we need to change from Forever Incremental to Forward Incremental and configure the job to either create synthetic or active fulls, which are then used to keep aside in terms of retention?
Hope some one can clear this up for me,
Thanks!

Re: Veeam Enterprise Manager GFS retention
Hello,
yes, you need to create (configure) synthetic / active fulls to keep them for GFS. It is not done automatically. It's the same message you get in the VBR console.
Best regards,
Hannes
