I just downloaded and installed Veeam Explorer for Sharepoint, and now get error an error "This beta has expired".
However, Veeam's website does not list an expiration or time limit on this tool.

Is there a current or working version of this tool available anywhere? Or can I fix this?

John, beta period for the Veeam Explorer for Microsoft SharePoint (started in April) has already expired, so please wait for the final release of Veeam B&R, which will be available soon.
