Is it possible to mount Veeam backups as a separate drive so that you can access it as say "drive F"
When you do a windows guest file level restore now you get the GUI or in explorer you can go into the the Veeam FLR folder. The problem is that I have some other software that I want to run on those folders but it can't see them as they seem to be a type of sym link (excuse my ignorance
Mounting as drive would not change anything, as all guest folders and files will remain virtual (emulated).
That said, no software I know of has any issues accessing data in these folders, so you may want to check with your software's vendor to see if they can address this issue from their side?
That said, I now recall we did have a registry value for changing mount type to drives... not sure if it still works though - need to check with the devs.
Geoff, just in case you want to try mounting as drive, here's the key that should go under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication and be set to 1:
