Veeam FLR restore
Hi All,
A quick question, I would like to perform an FLR restore to a different VM (not the VM that was backed up)
I see people talking about the mounting point for the backup.. if I was to use the copy to function on FLR, where would the backup be mounted too? The VM that I'm trying to copy to?
Is there a size limit for copying data in the FLR?

Re: Veeam FLR restore
The backup will be mounted to the server from where the restore is initiated - either backup server itself or Veeam B&R console. No size limits provided target FS supports the restored file size.

Re: Veeam FLR restore
Thanks foggy,
Is there away to only restore files and folders that are not already on the different VM? Also for the new files not to have restored appended to them?
Hopefully you can do this within the FLR solution?
Thanks

Matt,
Backup browser provides ability to overwrite or keep file during recovery and copy files via windows explorer. You can either use keep option or mount the backup and copy the needed files via windows explorer.

Thanks Dima,
But would this still be the same if I restore to another VM, not the original?
I can still use the keep function? And can I tick not to mark the files with restored file name?

Re: Veeam FLR restore
Sorry, my bad. In order to restore files to another location you have to use Copy to option. You can restore files locally or to a file share (for instance admin share of the said VM).

Re: Veeam FLR restore
There's an existing thread where restore of the missing files only is requested.
