Hello all,
I am in the process of setting up Veeam on a physical server and am trying to set it up so the data on the repository is safe from encryption. Currently we are thinking of having the manager and repository on the same physical server, which wouldn't be connected to the domain, but on the same subnet as production.
Another idea we had though was to put the manager on a VM that is hosted from the physical server and then the local storage of the physical server becomes the data repository. The manager still wouldn't be on the domain but would be in the same subnet as production, the repository(server local storage) would be on a different subnet with no gateway and would only be able to talk to the manager VM. Would this be an effective way to keep the data repository secure?

Re: Veeam manager and repository on single physical Server with VM
Sounds good, but if you're looking for a way to completely secure your backups, consider implementing true offline backups. Thanks!
