Veeam offside back-up.
Hi,
I am planning to replace our current back-up system with Veeam.
One of the questions that we face is how to get our backups offside. We don't want to take tapes or disks home.
Anyone is sending the backups offside? What components does it require?

Hello Tom,
Yes with Veeam B&R v7 it is possible to send backups offsite, plus it is possible to reduce you bandwidth usage with WAN acceleration feature. Please take a look at this webinar. Thank you.

Additionally, there is a blog post regarding this functionality, worth reading.

Re: Veeam offside back-up.
I forgot something important to tell:
The offside backups will be backups for different customers of mine.
I want to create an offside backup for my customers but the data should be split.
Is this possible?

Yes, you can create separate backup copy jobs and granulary pick up the VMs you want to sync with the offsite location.

So I have 5 sides. Each with there own veeam license.
I want them to backup to 1 server but without that they can see eachothers backups.

Create 1 job for each site and you should be good.

Re: Veeam offside back-up.
If you're going to manage everything with a single Veeam B&R server located in the main site, then creating separate backup copy jobs pointed to separate repositories should do the trick. BTW, how are you going to give your customers access to these files?
