Hello Veeam Development Team,
This is in regard to the Case # 05654285 where veeamagent(Veeam Plugin for Oracle) is utilizing High CPU and Support informed that this is by design and requested to open Feature Request here.
Could you please provide fix to this issue and let us know ETA. More details available in the Case.
Please let us know if you have any queries.

Re: Veeam Plugin for Oracle utilizing High CPU
Hi Mohammed,
Thanks for creating the topic, we're aware of the potential issue with CPU usage and this request appears quite often. Certainly, this is something that we're going to address in our future releases but I cannot provide ETA so far.
Do you use RMAN compression? If this is the case, you should disable it because our Data Mover on the Oracle server automatically compresses data using LZ4 algorithm.
You could try reducing the Data Mover process priority in veeam_config.xml on the Oracle server to throttle CPU usage. In Windows it should be:
<AgentParams agentPriority="" compression="NoCompression" />, 16384 – below normal or 64 - low.
In the case of Linux, the priority values must be from -20 to 19, more information can be found here.
Also, we have many performance improvements in the next upcoming major release, these improvements also partially affect CPU consumption, for example, the Source Data Mover will retrieve data directly from RMAN instead of proxying data flow through an auxiliary Plug-in manager process, md5 checksum computes are moved to the target and other optimizations.
Thanks!

Re: Veeam Plugin for Oracle utilizing High CPU
Hello Peter/Veeam Support,
Thanks for your last update!! Just Curious to know if this high CPU can be addressed in V12 as we have internal pressure from Senior Leadership Team to limit the CPU usage due to vast number of CPU alerts/tickets getting generated.
Also, We observed that the CPU usage is high even after disabling the compression.
Thanks
Mohammed Abbas

Re: Veeam Plugin for Oracle utilizing High CPU
Hi Mohammed,
Yes, it definitely makes sense to try version 12. We introduced many optimizations and observed a significant decrease in CPU usage in some environments but I cannot say how it will be in your specific environment, the best way to find out is to test.
Thanks!

Hi Mohammed,
First, we need to find out the root cause of high CPU consumption in your specific case. After that, we can think about a fix. I asked our support team leaders to pay attention to your case.
Thanks!
