In this old posting (from 2014):
veeam-backup-replication-f2/script-befo ... 41099.html
It states that for snapshot pre-freeze scripts and post-thaw scripts you should use in Job Creation/Editing wizard:
Storage-> Advanced (button bottom right) -> Scripts (tab)
rather than in:
Guest Processing -> Applications (button top right) -> VM (Edit button) -> Scripts (tab)
I'm on Veeam version 12
Is this correct?

Re: Veeam pre-freeze and post-thaw script how to configure
Hi Phillip,
I think the previous thread had some confusion:
Pre-Freeze/Post-Thaw scripts:
- Occurs before and after snapshot
- Script is transferred to the GuestOS being backed up and executed on the guest
- Set on the Guest processing tab of the Job Editing Wizard
Pre-job/post-job scripts
- Occur before the job processes and after all tasks in the job have completed
- Script is executed on the Veeam Backup and replication server
- Set on the Storage Tab Advanced Settings
So depending on your goal, set the script in one of those locations -- for pre-freeze scripts, you will want the first one.
