Veeam Proxy

Post by George »

Hi Guys,

I have a backup server and im going to deploy a proxy for a remote repository. Does the proxy take up a lot of resources i.e. can i run this proxy on another server or should it be dedicated to a box on its own? I understand the ideally it should be by itself but if possible i want to pop it on a server that isnt really doing much already.

What impact does the proxy have on a server on a day to day basis etc?

Thanks

George, the jobs put pretty heavy load on CPU due to inline compression and dedupe. So this significantly depends on loads you are going to assign to this proxy (i.e. the number of VMs you are backing up, the number of concurrent jobs, etc.). Thanks.
