Veeam report layout order
Hi,
Veeam v6 p3 /VMware
I'm receiving the email notification each day with the HTML report.
But I don't like the order (sequence) of the vm list.
I mean everything under "details".
It's not ordered the same as the vm order in the job.
Can someone explain me the benefits of this type of order for the reports?
Thanks

Well, just consistency... I agree this is kind of irritating that end and start times are not "following" each other. Anyway, looks like this is already logged on our bug tracker as a minor defect - so this should be addressed eventually.

Well agreed. But in the end i'm just looking at the top bar and if it's green everything is fine for me and i can continue reading the rest of the 107 mails we get each day from our Veeam servers

That's exactly what I mean. When it's ordered by start time it's automatic also ordered on the same sequence as in the vm job list.Gostev wrote:Well, just consistency... Very irritating.
So I hope this will also be fixed in the upcoming patch or minor release.
This is issue number 4 hehehe
Cheers

Maybe you need an enhancement to get a daily summary instead of 107 job reportsCokovic wrote:Well agreed. But in the end i'm just looking at the top bar and if it's green everything is fine for me and i can continue reading the rest of the 107 mails we get each day from our Veeam servers
Or a checkbox to only receive mail on job failure.

That's what the enteprise manager is for: one single mail in the morning with a resume of all the jobs status: x success, x warnings, x failures.
One line, easy and fast to read.
I doubt Enteprise Manager is the best kept secret of any Veeam Backup installation...

I will look at integrating Google News section into those reports then to make it less boring for you!

Yeah you can find the option in enterprise manager under Configuration --> Notifications. The Mail will look like this:
Summary of last sessions for all jobs:
1 Errors, 23 Warnings, 84 Successes
Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager
https://yourserver:9443/default.aspx

Backup Reports layout
[merged]
Is there a way to modify the backup reports layout?
As usual we get reports which include a VM's vCenter name, but since our VM's are hosted at our Cloud Service Provider the VM names in vCenter are auto generated. Is it possible to show the DNS name in the backup reports from Veeam Backup?
