I'm not 100% sure but I thinks it's related to Veeam Safe Snapshot Removal: on many vSphere + Veeam installation I see that Veeam snapshot is removed twice after VM backup.
Is that correct?

Hi Marco,
That's correct, if you enable this option and your first snapshot overgrows the defined threshold, Veeam will create the second snapshot. And when all the VM files are successfully backed up, you'll see two events on snapshot removal procedure at the vCenter generated by Veeam.

Marco, also please note that (as per User Guide) you should only use the safe snapshot removal option for pre-ESX 3.5 U2 hosts. Thanks!
