Veeam SDK for Perl?

Post by idicos » Oct 16, 2012 1:32 pm

Dear Sirs,

I am a software developer at a small company in germany.
Currently I am working on a monitoring system for VMware.

Most of our customers have Veeam Backup & Replication - so I have to add some stuff about the backup process.

I'm doing this project on a GNU/Linux OS via php/mysql.

In order to get the relevant data from the backup process I need to access an api.
Is there are similar way to access data, like the VMware SDK for PERL, to do this for your product?

Or is the only way the PowerShell api?

Sincerely,
idicos

Hello Idicos,

Yes, you should be using PowerShell API if you want to get the information from the backup server.

Thank you!

Hello Vitaliy,

thanks for your fast reply.
Ok, I am going to use the PowerShell API - as it is best practice.

But do you have any suggestions how I can interact with the api from the linux shell/ or maybe perl?

Thanks in advance,
idicos

I guess it's better to ask this question on perl or Linux community forums, anyway I have searched a bit and found a couple of links that you might find useful:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powershell/arch ... c-etc.aspx
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2770 ... -from-perl
