Hi Everyone,
I'm thinking of migrating my Veeam physical server to a VM, but wondering whether to keep it on-prem or in Azure.
If I want to install it in azure is there any latency requirements between Veeam Server and backup components (Repository, SCVMM, on-host proxy)?
Thanks in advance

Re: Veeam Server on Azure
Hi Moshe,
Latency between the components isn't really an issue, though if we get to significant amount of time (more than 60 seconds), we may start hitting various timeouts; I'm doubtful such a configuration would introduce such latency though.
It's a common enough deployment to have the Veeam Server hosted somewhere and managing remote sites that have the proxies, repositories, etc, all configured locally, just ensure that there is a stable and reliable connection for management operations between the sites and the Veeam Server.
Thanks!

Hi Moshe,
isn't it easier to use an S3 variant of Azure or AWS?

Re: Veeam Server on Azure
We have SOBR with capacity tier on Azure and strategy is if the entire site goes down, we can restore VMs directly to azure from the azure blob.
By setting up VBR server on Azure we minimize downtime on the VBR server and by that minimize the restore time
Thanks
