Veeam site - ticket system - session expires

Post by Vodochnik »

Sure off topic, but no right forum found...

Writing support ticket, some additional session expires relatively fast.
I think, it's about 1 hour or less. If I need more time to write a reply, I get "you are not authorized to use this site" or something like that and get redirected to veeam.com.
I'm still logged in, but all content I wrote in the ticket get lost. Is quite annoying ;)

Hi John

Thanks for the feedback.
You can always open a support case from type General Inquiry if you have feedback about the support portal.
Such tickets will go to the responsible teams.

If you write a longer ticket, I always recommend to write the text for the ticket first in a text editor on my computer. That way you won't loose any text. I also do that from time to time for posts here in the forum. Just to be on the safe side.

Best,
Fabian

PS:
I have forwarded your feedback to our support teams.

Hi Fabian,

thanks for your response, I do it also, with at least Ctrl+A Ctrl+C before submitting, but sometimes.. you know)
And yes, the quality of ticket support has somehow decreased in last 3 years... not only my opinion)
But forum is still the best!

Regards,
Vod

I agree with Vod. And while this problem is not exactly a problem (I get why Veeam wants to kill a session for security reasons... but you get no warning other than the aforementioned "you are not authorized" and then your stuff is gone. There must be some way to warn users? and say something like "you have been logged out, and any text you may have entered will be deleted - you will have to logon again. Would you like to copy text first?" or something like that, when the idle clock expires.

It's a good feedback for the support management team.

I'll be taking this feedback to my next sync with portal team. I know we have several improvements scheduled so perhaps this would be included in those. Thanks for the feedback!
