Dear All,
I am new to Veeam Backup and Replication. I just want to know what does the meaning of No of Sockets? our Support Contract has Expired and I am getting notification for the Renewal, and I got a Quote for 6 Sockets for Renewal.
Please advise
Regards
Kaleem

Re: Veeam Sockets
Hello Kaleem,
Veeam Backup and Replication product is licensed per physical CPU socket of "source" hypervisor host (where protected virtual machines reside). Looks like you used 6 sockets and now your support is expired. If you have a license of perpetual type, you can continue using the product (just without support and major version upgrade). Here is forum`s licensing FAQ.
Thanks.

Re: Veeam Sockets
6 sockets will give you 6 hosts with a single physical CPU on the motherboard (dual-core, quad-core, doesn't matter) or 3 hosts with two CPUs (dual-core, quad-core) on each motherboard.

Re: Veeam Sockets
Here is a good explanation of sockets vs. CPUs vs. chips. Check if needed. Thanks!
