Hi,
During my first installation on Veeam 8 i followed the wizard and it installed the sql2008 express, is there any way I can initiate an in place upgrade to SQL 2012 STD?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Veeam SQL 2008 Express to SQL 2012 Std In place upgrade
You have the option of either doing an inplace upgrade or installing "alongside" the existing SQL Express install. By doing an upgrade of your particular "Instance" existing settings will be migrated automatically which if you don't have much dba knowledge may be the simplest to do.
Another option is to install it alongside but you will manually have to set these up. You can run them both in parallel and then uninstall the Express version once your happy all is working ok.
A couple of database backups should be taken prior to any upgrade attempts! However if something goes wrong it is possible to recover a fresh installation of Veeam by using the "import backup configuration" option.
