Veeam SQL Cleanup - Case # 00490695

Post by flavor4real »

How is everyone doing? ...

I have a Server 2008 R2 setup where only Veeam B&R 6.5 is installed and use two Veeam proxies. The Veeam D&R SQL database is on another server (dedicated SQL server). Under the program list on my main Veeam server are many SQL instances/components listed. I would like to uninstall them. The Veeam support responded "Since Veeam SQL database is not local, we do not need any SQL components installed on Veeam server." I've attached a screenshot to my case ID.

Is Veeam not using a SQL database engine or so? I just want to make sure that veeam is not using any of the SQL components before I uninstall them.

Thanks

Unless you're going to use Veeam Explorer for SharePoint on this machine, you can safely remove all SQL Server components except the following:

Microsoft SQL Server Management Objects
Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types
