Veeam SQL Server Backup and Restore
Can the Veeam SQL Server database Backup and Restore be managed separately from the Veeam VM backups/snapshots? Is the Veeam Explorer for SQL Server used to manage SQL Server database backups and restores or can they be managed without this? Can a SQL Server database backup be scheduled without scheduling a VM backup/snapshot?

No, you cannot perform SQL transaction log backup without backing up SQL VM. Thanks.

Is there a way to schedule an automated SQL db restore from a production server to a dev server?

Re: Veeam SQL Server Backup and Restore
Hello John,
There is no way to do that in the UI. From the top of my head PowerShell script can be used to automate the recovery. Here is a link to PowerShell guide: SQL item restore cmdlets. Cheers!

Thanks. I've used this method. However, support will not assist when there are issues. Will this functionality be added in a future update or release?

Currently we don't have this feature scheduled for future product update or release. Though, feel free to leverage the existing script. Thanks.
