Hi everyone, is anyone using Veeam 8 for transaction-level recovery of SQL databases? I am interested to know the pros and cons of using Veeam 8 vs RedGate SQL Backup software. I am referring to the new feature in v8 which gives you the ability to backup logs on the SQL server at scheduled intervals. For example do both products use native SQL truncation? Any help would be appreciated.
I was reading this article which explains the process of log backup in Veeam http://helpcenter.veeam.com/backup/80/v ... p_hiw.html

Re: Veeam SQL Server Logs Backup vs RedGate SQL Backup
You can search these forums to see that there are a lot of customers utilizing the said functionality.Hi everyone, is anyone using Veeam 8 for transaction-level recovery of SQL databases?
Can't comment on RedGate, but VB&R does use native SQL functionality. Transaction log backup, log truncation, etc. are performed by the SQL server itself, Veeam just triggers one.For example do both products use native SQL truncation?
Thanks.
