Veeam support for Solaris 11 (Oracle Minicluster)

Dear Veeam Experts,

We have added oracle Minicluster hardware to enhance our oracle database and applications, we would like to establish the backup of this systems using Veeam backup and Replication product.
Please advise the suitability of backup for Solaris virtualization using Veeam backup and replication software and below points.

1) When will be Veeam product officially supporting such environment ?
2) Will that allow full vm and granular backup and restore?
3) What will be the licensing method and price?

Hi Shaik, currently we do not have plans to support Solaris virtualization. There are plans to support backup of physical systems running under Solaris, though.

Thanks for the inforamtion , could you be able to answer below points:

1) When is the expected date of such official Solaris OS support ?
2) Can i be able to use the physical agent method of backup by installing the agent on VM's on Solaris ?

Hi Shaik,

1) Unfortunately, there is no expected date for the Solaris OS support, so no ETA for now.
2) Yes, you can use Agent to backup VMs on Solaris, however, you should keep in mind it's unsupported environment, so in case of any issues most of time we will not able to solve them. Thanks!

Adding on to this, please note if you're using Solaris Zones that Zones may be fully backed up and restored with the host operating system.
