Veeam v11 - Warning due to an Independent disk
Hi,
since version 10 when we backup a virtual machine with an independent disk we received an error on the firs run of the job. In the next run the result of the job was Success.
After the upgrade to version 11 the job gives the Warning on every run. Is there a way to stop warning me for the unsupported type?
I did try to work it out with Exclusions but in the Disks page i can specify which disk it has to backup (and not which to exclude) makeing it risky in the future, for possible disk added and not included in the backup job.
Any help is appreciated
Luca

Thanks for reporting this. Yes, it should only warn you at the first run. Not every run.
I will forward.

Checked with our QA. This is already fixed and will be available in GA and day 0 patch (for the RTM).

[MERGED] VBR skip backing-up independent disk
Hi,
We have a backup job that gives us a warning about not able to backup independent disk when it first ran as a full backup. But then we noticed that during the subsequent runs on this backup job it went through successfully without any error or warning. So we check the logs/status, it shows that one of the disks was actually not listed in the logs. Only 4 out of 5 disks were processed, and the independent disk which the #5 disk was not processed or listed in the logs. So it seems VBR skip this disk (#5) and reports that the backup went successfully? Any idea? Because if this is the case then the VBR reporting is incorrect?
Thanks

Re: Veeam v11 - Warning due to an Independent disk
Hello,
please see above, that's "works as designed".
Customers use independent disks to skip things from backup, so showing always a warning would be odd for them.
Best regards,
Hannes
