Veeam v8 - DDBoost - DD OS Version Interoperability Problem?
I am working on setting up a new DataDomain 2500 running DD OS 5.5.0.4-430231 and believe I have found an issue. When creating the backup repository to this device via DDBoost, I receive this error:
http://take.ms/sSZUs
I am able to get Veeam to connect successfully to our older DD640 running DD OS 5.4.2.1-423209 using the same methods. I think that there is an incompatibility in the DDBoost code Veeam uses and DD OS 5.5.
Can anyone confirm this?

Hmm... I've not seen that message. Are you using any DNS name(s)?

I have tried both IP and DNS with the same result to the DD2500. The DD640 works with both IP and DNS, but like I said above it is running 5.4 and the DD2500 is running 5.5.

I've been using version: 5.5.0.2-421637 (you may not be able to use that rev) and I know it works. I recommend you open a case at this point.

Yeah, I opened a case and they are going to downgrade one to 5.4.4.2 to see if that helps the problem. Knowing that you are on 5.5 though concerns me, do you have a way to upgrade to the 5.5.0.4 code and see if it still works for you?

I have tested DD 2500 with Veeam 8 and 5.4.x and 5.5.x firmware
Both work fine
I do note that when connecting the Veeam Mgmt Server to the Boost repository, your boost user account must be an admin role on the Data Domain
After the initial setup is complete, you can change it back to a backup-operator role if required
This is my experience so far

EDIT - GOT IT! Deleted all DDBoost related everything and started over from scratch and now it is working. Yay!

In the system settings of the Data Domain, under access management/local users
I assume you have a boost backup user?
What role does it have? Admin? I think it needs to be
When you create the repository in Veeam use these credentials
