Hi,
Some customers asked me a question : What happens to the backup if vmware performs a vmotion on vm that Veeam is backingup in the same moment ?
If it happens during a FULL backup, would the snapshot be inconsistent ?
Thank you

Re: Veeam & vmotion
Hi,
When a vMotion is performed a snapshot cannot be taken.
If the snapshot is made before the vMotion the snapshot will be consistent, and will also be consistent after the vMotion has taken place.
I have tested this with Veeam B&R v7 and vSphere 5.5.

Also, vMotion cannot be performed while snapshot is being created (the corresponding command on the VM's shortcut menu in the vSphere client gets disabled for the whole duration of the operation).v.tom wrote:When a vMotion is performed a snapshot cannot be taken.
