Veeam VSS agent and VIX API

Is there a supported or a functional method of stopping Veeam from using the VIX api for uploading and running the veeam agent on guests?

I suppose in vCenter you could remove the "guest interaction" permissions for the VMs in question from the account being used by Veeam for the vCenter connection. I think the specific permission is "Acquire guest control ticket" or something like that. I'm curious, why do you want/need to do this?
