Veeam11 Customer SSPortal unable to add backup job

Post by donaldli »

Case #04683840 — Veeam11 Customer SSPortal unable to add backup job
This is because there is a new field "Friendly Name". After I use REST API to add new OrgConfig, then search from the SSPortal, I can see the "Friendly Name" in Provider EM Self-Service is empty. Therefore, from Customer SSPortal, we cannot add backup job.
Checking the DB, I found there is a Defaut Value constraint of the new column. But it doesn't work.
I guess that, at the time of inserting new OrgConfig into the table, Veeam did not ignore this column, as it is set “Not Null”. Veeam 11 set a value to the column, which might be “” empty. Therefore, the default value constraint was not used, and the value of this field in the new row is empty, which blocks creating new backup job.
After manually edit the "Friendly Name" field in Provider EM Self-Service, it can be added.
Anyone else experience this issue?

Hi Donald,

Yes, this is a known one. We issued a hotfix for that matter, but encountered another problem - when modifying it with PUT request and then getting it again, it still returns NULL. So, now we are working on the solution. I'll keep you posted on the hotfix status.

Thank you,
Oleg

Hi Oleg, the REST API has no input param to set the friendly name. So, how do you modify it with PUT request?

We issued the hotfix for this issue, but unfortunately have found another problem and now are working on addressing it as well (new hotfix). Thanks!
