VeeamON Session about 12A

Post by mkretzer »

Hello,

i am searching for the session about Veeam 12A, especially about Object Storage backup. Where can i find this?

Will backing up Object storage be possible in combination with the old core license (as an Add-On)?

Hi Markus

The general keynote session with the What's new in V12a part is available here:

The plan is to use our VUL licensing for that feature. So it should be possible to merge a socket and VUL license as it's already possible today for NAS or Agent backups.
Please note, I strongly recommend to check all v12a related information when we have released Veeam Backup & Replication v12a. Every information you get today may be changed while we develop the new version.

Strange. I can see the video stream.

Can you try:
1) Got to https://www.veeam.com/veeamon
2) Login to the portal
3) Go to the session catalog
4) Search for general
5) click on the session "Welcome to VeeamON 2023: Vision and Innovation"

The video should be visible then.

Ok after watching this i wonder: Is it possible to set one Job to backup "all buckets" from one specific S3 source?

One of our solutions creates a bucket for every customer of one of our websites. So hundreds of thousands of buckets all coming from one S3 source (but not much data in total). It would be bad if we would have to manually configure this...

Yes, you can backup all buckets in the S3 account. I actually had a similar question for @Dima P. recently :)

mkretzer,

Yup. This requires adding the entire account plus specifying the region, then you can select any one of these objects from the hierarchy as your backup scope: account > bucket > object name's prefix (most tend to call it folder) > object.
