VeeamZip causes VMware View issues by enabling CBT
Is there any way to prevent VeeamZip from enabling CBT for VM it backs up? I'm using VeeamZip to back up "master image" VM in VMware View. If master VM has CBT enabled, I'm getting "Failed to perform space reclamation on machine" error on the clones.
I've read the old post explaining that using CBT significantly improves VeeamZip performance, but I'd rather have slow VeeamZip than failing space reclamation! Thank you!

Hello!
1. No, but good point - we should definitely disable this useless action.
2. You CAN have that disabled in the backup job settings. Can you create the dedicated backup job for your "master image" VMs?
Thanks!

Aleksandr, so I double checked with R&D and I stand corrected - it's not a "useless action". I totally forgot CBT can also be used during a full backup not to have to read through zeroed VMDK blocks, which really shortens the backup time.

I'm using free VeeamZip for master image VMs in VDI cluster, so I don't think I can create a job with CBT disabled? I do have Veeam Essentials Enterprise Plus license, but I'm using it in a server cluster.

What about using a separate Community Edition install for the VDI cluster?

I didn't know about the Community Edition! I've installed it and disabled CBT in the job. Thank you for adding so many capabilities to the free version of Veeam B&R!
