Hi Marco, I've removed the log snippets as per forum rules - we can access all required logs through your support case, no need to post them. As for your support case, please give our support engineers sufficient time to investigate this issue with R&D. Thanks!

Seems I know the trick - MS SQL 2016 Express installation (and MS SQL product family overall) terminates installation process if %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\ or %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft SQL Server\ have 'Compressed' flag in filesystem. Veeam installer has no idea why MS SQL installer failed and logs contain no relevant information.
Quick-fix and workaround - uncompress folders after first Veeam/MS SQL installation attempt failed.
Proposition to Veeam installer team - make explicit check in Veeam installer for the disk compression (usually compression set recursively for the whole disk and every new folder created will be compressed as well) and at least notify user about such specific case.
Ideally - installer can programmatically pre-create empty folder for MS SQL installer and remove FS compression from them (Requires FS call, not a trivial thing, but not a rocket science either). Then everything will "Just work" like magic.

Just ran into the same problem on B&R 10 CE. When did this compressed attribute check start happening? I do recall installing Veeam B&R last year or in 2018 on a compressed volume without issue.
Anyway, looks like I have 5.5 hours of decompression ahead.

Cannot comment as it is not Veeam B&R itself who performs this check and fails to install but SQL Server.
