Re: Virtual center upgrade
If the upgrade is in-place, then no concerns - you can go ahead and upgrade.
Just make sure you are using Veeam Backup version 4.1.2 or later
Previous versions do not support vSphere 4.1

Yes, in-place. So far, upgrade to 4.1.2 has been flawless to everyone, as far as I know. And the release is rock solid too.

Hello,
we are upgrading our vCenter to 4.1. Veeam Backup and Replication x.x.230 should not have any issue with the upgrade correct?

Re: Virtual center upgrade
I got one additional question, and trying to cover a few bases ...
When a Veeam Job starts, does it connect to the vCenter via DNS name or the actual IP address. If it matter, I've added the vCenter over the IP address to veeam Backup and Replication.
thanks

Re: Virtual center upgrade
Backup server tries to reach vCenter Server in the same way you've added it to the backup console. In your case it will be IP address.
