Good day,
I have my virtual lab setup. I want to do some testing on an application (updates, etc). In my application group I have my domain controller and my database server, however, the database server have a RAW volume mapped to it where the databases reside.
1. will the virtual lab be able to access the raw volume since it's not backed up. (yes my iSCSI network is configured in my vLab)
2. If the answer to the above question is yes, the changes i make in the vLab will be written to the RAW volume permanently since it's not a backup? Way around that? or this not possible at all and i have to convert the RAW volume to a VMDK?
I appreciate any thoughts.

Re: Virtual Lab and RAW mapped volumes
Hello Ali,
Assuming that your RAW iSCSI volume is in the production network, I don't think it would be possible to do that.
There is an existing topic that you might find useful > Virtual Lab Networking
If I were you, I would convert this mapped drive to a regular virtual disk and would verify/back it up as a part of the VM.
Thank you!
