Hello,
I have several virtual labs configured and they are GREAT.
I'd like to be able to take it a step further and create a more complete sandbox environment by attaching an available (unused) network adapter to the virtual lab switch.
Then by connecting a network switch to the NIC assigned to the virtual lab I could connect physical computers to the virtual lab environment.
This would allow me to create a physical sandbox network for more elaborate testing.
I'm familiar with routing traffic from the production network to the vlab and I'm using it.
Right now the vlab says "No adapters" on the vSphere 5.5 Configuration, Network page.
It appears I can add an adapter to the vlab.
I am aware that if I do this I need to ensure the production and sandbox networks NEVER get connected to each other.
I'm guessing the routing feature may get in the way of connecting a physical port and switch to the vlab.
Do you think it will work?
Has anyone tried this?
Thanks, Jay

Re: Virtual Lab with Physical Network Adapter
Jay, given the networks are totally isolated, this should work.JayMeath wrote:I am aware that if I do this I need to ensure the production and sandbox networks NEVER get connected to each other.
