VIX Error: The guest does not support empty passwords

Starting guest agent
Cannot connect to host [172.24.80.108] over VIX library. Login: [pzh\sa_vmware]. GuestLogin: [pzh\sa_vmware].
Cannot login into the virtual machine: [[Productie DS1] PH006DC/PH006DC.vmx]. User: [pzh\sa_vmware].
VIX Error: The guest does not support empty passwords Code: 3033

Get this error after installing Veeam Backup v5 on an existing v4 database.
Installation finished succesfull without problems.
Re-entered the password in the Job to be sure, connection from v5 to the vcenter seems fine.

Any ideas?

I'm getting the same error.. I'll open a ticket tomorrow on this.

I removed the VM from the backup and added it back via the ESXi host and not the vCenter instance... That fixed it for me.. But.. Full backups ran the next backup job...

That's expected to have a full run, as both vCenter Server and ESX(i) host assign a different unique ID for each VM. In other words even if you have the same VM name, this VM will be treated as a completely new one because of the changed ID.

I would appreciate it, if you could update this topic with the resolution as soon as our technical team helps you.

Cannot really check on news, since no one posted their support case number :( this is exactly the case why we request that any technical issue posted on this forum includes support case ID.
