Hello,
In our backup jobs, we perform incremental backups + a synthetic full every Saturday. We have also corresponding backup copy jobs (secondary target) to copy to a repository located on the 2nd site.
I checked that the backup chain in the main repository is correct: incremental + synthetic full on Saturday, but on the secondary target (backup copy) I can see only the incremental (apart from the first backup of the chain that is full). Why the synthetic backup is not mirrored? I would like to have a weekly full backup also on the off-site repository to be sure to have a consistent backup chain, is this possible?
thanks

Re: vm copy doesn't mirror synthetic backups on repository
Hello,
backup copy jobs are independent from backup jobs. In your case, GFS settings need to be used (weekly backups) to get full backups on the BCJ target.
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: vm copy doesn't mirror synthetic backups on repository
thanks for the reply, i set the GFS on the copy job as u suggest.
I was thinking that creating the backup job copies via the option "secondary target" on the backup job it was triggering the full backup, as it does like the incremental backups.
