VM is locked by another task

Hello,

Thought i would see if anyone else has had an similar experience before opening a support case.

I have recently built a Veeam 6 server and am doing some testing before upgrading our live backup servers.

I have setup a new replica job, and all but 2 VM's replicate ok.

The two that are stuck in "Pending" have "VM is locked by another task". I can't see any active tasks against the VM, and no other backup jobs are running.

One VM is even powered off.

I have installed patch 2.

The only time I've seen this is when a VMware Tools install was 'stuck'. Selecting 'End VMware Tools Install' for that VM fixed it for me.

This can occur because something in the VM is being locked, possibly by the host, if you find that nothing is truly locking the VM in Veeam. Please create a support ticket if you have not already figured out the resolution to the issue and we will get you squared away.

I have checked and there is no VMware tools install stuck or pending.

I have opened a case #5169127.


I also have to add that I can backup the VM's fine from another server, the replica job still will not run.

The last time I saw this issue a restart of the Veeam Backup service fixed it. I know that seems too simple but figured I'd bring it up.

A restart of the remote proxy's seems to have done the trick. Odd that it doesn't error with a timeout or anything similar.
