VM size - Backup Copy Job

Post by PeterSchwatz »

Hi all,
We are using B&R 11 with vSphere 7.0.3.
We make a daily backup of all VMs and copy them via B&R Backup-Copy Job to an external hard disk.
What we notice is that the VM sizes in the backup copy job are always twice as big as they are displayed in the backup job.
Does anyone have an idea what this could be?

Hello,
I guess it's "provisioned data" vs. "compressed backup". Do you maybe have some screenshots?

Best regards,
Hannes

a link is fine.

I use snag.gy / snipboard.io and upload it there. in the full editor, there is an image button that allows to include it directly in a post

Hello,
hmm, I see the same in my environment. The only difference is, that the backup job shows the "used size" in my case. And the "used size" is what the backup copy job shows in my case.

agree, that's a bit confusing and I will check what we can do about it.

Best regards,
Hannes
