VM Ware guest replication

We have created a replication job for a windows 2003 64 bit server running sql 2005, most of the time the job runs ok but twice in the last week it failed to delete the snapshot then the server shutdown and i could not restart until i had deleted the snap shot i had to do this manually.
We are using version 5.0.0.179 32 bit
Error received

RemoveSnapshot failed, snapshotRef "16-snapshot-488", timeout "3600000"

This may be a VMware issue with snapshot creation, please follow this link, similar situation is described: Odd One - VM's shutting down before backup
