vmware ha/surebackup

Post by theviking28 »

Is there a way to make Veeam ignore VMware HA when using virtual lab for testing things? Or for Surebackup jobs?

My example: I have an SQL server that I'd like to spin up in virtual lab and test some transaction log restores to. When I try to do this, Veeam fails the job and cites VMware HA as the reason. I understand and it makes sense as booting up this server is going to use enough RAM that it will make HA not reliable. Well, I've already tried adjusting the amount of RAM in the job that Veeam should be giving to the server, but no matter how low I set it, it still doesn't seem to be OK with VMware HA.

Sorry for the late reply, but, unfortunately, there is no way to do that. Can you adjust HA settings for the host where you spin up the VMs on?
