A customer is looking to replace an aging backup server with a new server (small amount of local storage) and a NAS.
I know a few years ago this wasn't best practice and it was advisable to keep primary backup jobs to local storage and run backup copies to a NAS (if required).
Is this still the case?
Thanks in advance.

Re: VMware to NAS
Hi Andrew, a general recommendation is still the same - to have primary backups on faster storage for operational restores (can be both local and standalone) and secondary backups on another storage with longer retention for archival purposes and to comply with the 3-2-1 rule. How exactly you fulfill these recommendations is totally up to you as RTO/RPO requirements are different between the organizations.
