We have restored multiple VM's from VMware to Azure fine but is there any known issues, or requirements for Linux VM's running LVM? As these VM's when restored fail to boot and boot diagnostics via Azure reveals nothing.
Just wondered if there are any further things to be aware of?
Veam B&R Server at v11
Oracle Linux 7 VM with LVM configured for disks
Restore back to VMware as different VM works fine
But restore to Azure the VM fails to boot.
Any suggestions?

Re: VMware VM to Azure (Linux Question)
Hello,
yes, it's more a general thing. I gave it some tests some time ago and my summary is
1) instant recovery to VMware / Hyper-V is a good "quick test". If that fails, then restore to EC2 / Azure also fails.
2) use UUIDs in /etc/fstab with Linux
3) fix wrong disk sizes in Linux with pvresize
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: VMware VM to Azure (Linux Question)
Instant Recovery to VMware works fine....UUID's are indeed in fstab and sizes are correct.
But using Veeam to restore to Azure the VM seems not to boot well and Boot Diagnostics reveal nothing.
Using ASR to restore the VM to Azure works fine.

Re: VMware VM to Azure (Linux Question)
hmm, then I suggest to investigate with Veeam support. Please post the case number for reference.
