Anyone else seeing this?
Its a new Version 7 install to a 2012 VM
vSphere 5.1 Update 1 with vCenter and 3 hosts
Primary storage is Dell Equallogic (6.0.5 Firmware)
Backup Repository is CIFS on a Synology RS2212
Replicas are also stored on the Synology on iSCSI volume presented to the 3 hosts.
Jobs are randomly causing the VMs to show consolidation needed and occasionally even corrupting the .vmx file it happens with the veeam server, the proxy server as well as the source machines. Its sporadic. Occasionally the Synology disconnects from the hosts but ONLY when jobs are running. I'm tracing that one down separately but all the source machines are on the Equallogic.

Re: .VMX and Redo log corruption?
Consolidation needed error message appears when vCenter Server fails to delete snapshots on the backed up VMs, so it might be worth checking vCenter Server log files for additional details. I would also check Synology log files to see why these volumes are disconnected from the server.
BTW, what backup mode are you using?
