Vsphere 6.5 Encryption

Post by Kellen.Flood »

Team,

With Vsphere 6.5 releasing VM Encryption soon, will this have an impact on how Veeam performs a backup? I assume VMWare took this into consideration with VADP?

http://www.vladan.fr/vmware-vsphere-6-5 ... n-details/

Thanks in advance

No impact except that Direct Storage Access transport modes will not be available.

Just an additional note, you will need to have a virtual proxy that is also encrypted in order to execute the backup, and remember that backup data will not be encrypted by vmware technology. You will then be able to use our own encryption to have an encrypted backup set.
